I was doing AB for Luxon yesterday and we won most of our matches. I think we just need more people doing Alliance Battles.

Come on Luxons! They are actually pretty fun.

If you are new just follow your team mates until you get the hang of it.

like someone else said i woke upafter 9hrs to find the kurzicks in my territory...what disturbs me the most is that 9hrs earlier when me and my guild was trying...yes tryin to do AB we sometimes had to wait 20mins between matches...there just wasnt enough kurzicks?! so its was surprising that 7hrs later for the line to have changed so drastically...my allaince own Aruios Mines, which is right there in the conflict between the luxon and kurzick....this is bad...very bad...everyone to AB...luxon ftw

I don't care if Kurzicks outnumber Luxon 12,000 to 12. Kurzicks can't push the line unless they win alliance battles. And Kurzicks can't enter alliance battles unless there is an opposing team of 12 Luxons to fight with. The remaining 11,988 Kurzicks will just sit in the outpost sucking their thumbs until 12 more Luxons show up, and they will have no impact on the battle line whatsoever.

This has nothing to do with one side outnumbering the other, or one side faction farming more than the other. It has to do with one side winning more (a lot more apparently) alliance battles than the other.

Last night, when I logged in, I saw the line completely engulfing Luxon territory and heard complaints of Kurzicks cheating. I played 6 or 7 AB's and we won them all, with only 1 being remotely close. Every time, I did notice the Kurzicks capturing control points before the timer finished counting down, but that deficit was quickly overcome. How in the world so many Luxon teams lost so often completely baffles me.

Personally, I love the Kurzicks for pushing the Luxons to the Deep Luxon map. It makes for INCREDIBLY EASY faction for Luxons. I will have some more 15k Luxon sets in no time.

Ah, but numbers make a difference...
Think about it, the sports teams of a big country have more choice in players, and so do better.
Admittedly, in AB the players aren't exactly chosen, but there would still be some impact. More Kurzick players is likely to mean more good Kurzick players.
Also, methinks that each side favours a different mentality; Luxons seem to have alot of Rangers and Necromancers, while Kurzicks have a lot of Warriors and Monks (in my experience). Other classes are popular as well, of course.
...And on another note, Luxons seem to have more despicable Tough Rangers. x.x

The official word is that yes, the Kurzicks triggered the Momentum bonus, and that's how they could push so far so quick:

Hint to A Big Luxon Guild: get a sh!tload of people together really late at night when hardly anyone is playing, and steamroll AB to trigger the momentum bonus.

I still disagree. Sports teams of big countries are the hand-picked best that the country has to offer. In this case, yes, certainly numbers matter, because only the top few will play while the other millions, who suck, do not. In Guild Wars, however, every Tom, Dick, and Harry get their turn just as much as the better players. In fact, the more Toms, Dicks, and Harrys there are, the less often the good players get to play.

the more players there are on a side means the more worse players there will be. There is probably a ratio of 100 "bad" players to every "good" player. So numbers don't really matter as it balances itself out since groups dont really know who the better player will be in battle.

^ So true, and sometimes those 10 rangers will be in one team.

Ya its really easy for any of the 2 sides to own the other team on their map deep in their territory. Right now, lux made it Grenz, and as a kurz, Thanks. Free faction. Easily win 19 out of 20 battles, hell a full noob 12 kurz team vs 12 pro lux, and lux still get rolled. Farm it up kurz.

It looks like the line is going to swing back and forth more than it did before the update. I think it's a good thing since playing Saltspray & Etnaran all the time gets a bit repetative and dull.
